Museum Day
At Museum Day in the Center for Creative Photography, diverse community voices gathered for panel discussions with artists and advocates. The photovoice narratives sparked meaningful conversations about well-being, resilience, migration, and belonging.
Visitors engaged with thought-provoking questions throughout the gallery and participated in meaningful activities curated by students in art museum education. The day concluded with a Beads of Courage activity, connecting community members and TenWest wellness participants through the deeper themes of consciousness and community wellbeing
Over 321 community members explored how art and storytelling can bridge divides, foster empathy, and inspire collective action toward wellness in our borderlands community.
Community Panel Discussions
Three panel discussions brought together diverse voices to explore the interconnected themes of wellness and resilience in our borderlands community. Community leaders, healthcare professionals, artists, and advocates engaged in meaningful conversations about building resilient communities, fostering care and consciousness, and addressing migration and health challenges. These dialogues created spaces for community members to share perspectives, learn from one another, and envision collaborative solutions for collective well-being.
Participitory Activities
Students in art museum education designed opportunities for visitors to add their voices to the exhibition through zine-making, poetry, recipes, and sensory engagement activities.
